Back when I'd just moved to this small town of ours and didn't know a soul outside of our family, I had this idea of opening a little summer gallery to show myself and my art off a bit. I found a sweet little nook in a corner of this really cool little area outside of town that felt perfect for the month of July when the town is flooded with tourists. Nothing fancy, nothing crazy, a wee bit scary but necessary.

Two weeks before I'm scheduled to move in, the landlord calls me to ask if I wouldn't mind switching spaces. She had a larger space that hadn't rented yet, the location, lighting and storage was better and I could have it for the same price as the other space. A no-brainer. I quickly accepted and a few days later took my daughter down to check it out and…..almost lost my pants. The space was huge, colossal, and very very empty. Elsa had tons of fun running back and fourth as fast as she could. She was loving the echo - the kind you get in a church dome in Florence - as she shouted “What are you gonna do in here mommy?” Well, heck if I knew.

I didn't have the time to paint a collection of gigant paintings, (it was June and the kids were off school so I barely had time to use the bathroom at that point) so instead I stayed awake all night freaking out. Somewhere between midnight and the witching hour I remembered a colleague of mine printing large wall hangings on linen in a small town not far from here. I called them first thing in the morning and they must have detected the panic in my voice as they kindly offered to help me out even though they're officially closed for the summer.

That was the first time I printed these large wall hangings, and as they flew off the walls that summer I've printed them several times more. I chose one of them for my own bedroom wall. It uses up most of the wall space in there but gives the whole room a soft, poetic vibe as it sways slowly whenever a breeze comes through the window (or a child runs past it in lightning speed).

I've promised to add them to my web shop for just about two years now as customers passing by the gallery have regretted not purchasing them on the spot, but late is better than never, right? (I now have a permanent gallery space in the same area, turns out I LOVE having a ridiculous amount of wall space all to myself)

I have two landscapes to choose from at the moment, “Soft waves” that is 140x180 cm (55x71") and “Lost tales” that comes in two sizes - 140x180 cm (55x71") and 100x130 cm (39x51"). Find them here
