For a Swede, the beginning of summer is a really big ball of expectation. We've paddled through months of cold winds and darkness and survived merely on memories of past summer days. Not until the minute those first rays of sun hit our faces we relax our bodies fully, rested against a south facing wall with coffee in our hands.
When the summer starts off with cool winds and endless rain we feel ripped off and as superficial as that may be - we reserve the right to make it a top priority in all of our conversations. So in staying true to my heritage - I felt I had to mention it here.
To be completely honest though, perfect weather stresses me out. It means I have to seize the day with picnic baskets, gardening projects and plain air painting when I'd much rather huddle up in the studio with my audio books. But that's just me.
Weather aside though, summer's almost here and for me that means more opportunities to meet people and showing my art in person, something I'm learning is key to my well-being as an artist.
