Greetings from the mountains where we’re not worrying much about to do-lists, but I wanted to fill you in on all the clarity my mind's had thanks to all this fresh mountain air. I was careful about not making any big New Year's resolutions this year as universe tends to bite me in the rear when I do BUT - I think February is an ok time to make a few decisions around things I want to CUT OUT of my life at least?
1. I need a KonMarie Style spring cleaning in my studio because it does NOT spark joy at the moment (I’ve already tried getting my kids excited about matching paint tube caps with their mama tubes but that apparently didn’t spark any joy either).
2. I won't be making any new digital courses this year. (I will however finish the course that's almost finished (why is that final 5% always the most difficult?)). As much as I love teaching, making courses takes way more time away from my own painting than I think is reasonable. Bye-bye confusing editing software and re-painting artwork because someone forgot to press record - again.
3. I won't be launching new artwork the way I have in the past. As I'm moving into a permanent gallery space in the next few weeks I will simply add the same paintings going on the walls to my webshop. I will send a heads up to this list when I do but if you see anything you like on Instagram - don't hesitate to send me an inquiry via DM.
Now - back to playing in the snow. Otis has chased so many tennis balls in deep snow that he can’t even muster up the energy to jump up on the sofa. Our bodies are tired but our minds are crystal clear. Time off is needed even if your job is your greatest joy.
